The holiday season is about to get a whole lot more magical here in the DFW metroplex. As we celebrate the monumental 20th season of Home and Lifestyle TV on the ABC network, we are always looking for the most spectacular, awe-inspiring events to share with our viewers. This year, the Gaylord Texan Resort is delivering something truly unprecedented.
The beloved holiday event will return from November 13, 2026, through January 3, 2027, featuring the 22nd Annual Lone Star Christmas. But the marquee attraction is what has us truly spellbound: for the first time ever, the resort is debuting ice!™ featuring Harry Potter™.
We will be featuring this breathtaking wizarding world and the entire Lone Star Christmas experience on our upcoming holiday episodes, giving you an exclusive look at the craftsmanship, the lights, and the festive cheer. Here is a sneak peek at what you and your family can expect this winter!
Stepping Into the Wizarding World of ICE!
For the first time in history, the iconic moments of the Harry Potter universe will be brought to life using 2 million pounds of brilliantly hand-carved ice. The attraction is maintained at a crisp 9 degrees, but don't worry—the resort provides their signature blue parkas to keep everyone warm while exploring.
Here is what visitors will discover inside the ten spectacular rooms:
Guests will first be greeted by a towering ice sculpture of Harry's beloved owl, Hedwig.
The immersive rooms feature photo-worthy scenes inspired by the films, including Hogsmeade Station, the Forbidden Forest, The Three Broomsticks, and The Great Hall.
Inside the Hogwarts Castle room, visitors can race down six impressive, two-story ice slides.
These slides lead right into the Quidditch Pitch, which bursts into light and color to celebrate each of the Hogwarts houses.
The Artisans Behind the Masterpiece
The scale of this attraction is hard to overstate. The incredible master artisans who carve this winter wonderland travel more than 6,400 miles from Harbin, China to Grapevine. Harbin is known as the "Ice City" and hosts the world's largest ice and snow festival. As you walk through the exhibit, you will even have the chance to witness live carving demonstrations from these talented artists.
After exploring the ice, visitors can browse the Christmas Village retail store to find festive gifts and exclusive collectibles. This location serves as the largest holiday pop-up store in the entire city of Grapevine.

The Lone Star Christmas Experience
The magic certainly doesn't stop when you step out of the cold. The entire Gaylord Texan resort transforms into a holiday haven. When we bring the Home and Lifestyle TV cameras to the resort, we will be capturing the sheer scale of their decorations and activities, which include:
Over 2 million twinkling lights and a breathtaking 54-foot Christmas tree centerpiece.
